The Final Frontier – SED Fitting

SED fitting. What a delightful way to estimate how many stars a galaxy has. And not just stars—if we're lucky, we might even pin down how much iron is floating around. But let’s be honest: SED fitting is not for the faint-hearted. Most codes are either computationally extravagant or just... incorrect.

That's why I'm building CERIDWEN (Comprehensive SED Estimation Routine Involving Datadriven Weight calculatioNs). If you can think of a better acronym, please do—I'm flailing. Ceridwen, in Celtic mythology, is a goddess of grain, but also prophecy. Science hasn’t quite cracked prophecy yet, but with a good likelihood function and a GPU or two, we can give it a solid go.
